Some people find us after a child's eczema flare. Some after a health scare. Some just because they finally flipped a bottle over and didn't like what they read.

We're Edwin and Fionna.

We're Singapore parents who found Soapnut Republic, used it at home, when we were living in Shanghai with our two young kids, and also when we moved back to Singapore, we decided it was worth bringing here too. The dish soap on our sink, the floor cleaner our kids crawled across (they stopped crawling now, but still lie around), the hand soap by every wash basin. We use all of it ourselves.

The couple behind the brand.

Soapnut Republic was started by Bobby (from New Zealand) and Kim (from Australia), parents living in Shanghai who wanted safer products for their family and built them instead of waiting for someone else to. Every product is proudly produce in China under the licence of Soapnut Republic Limited (NZ), close to where the soapnuts are sourced and harvested. Soapnut Republic is made with the same standard Bobby and Kim apply to their own home.

What's a soapnut?

A berry. It grows on trees across Asia, and inside it is saponin, a natural soap that families across China, India and Nepal have used for centuries to wash clothes, clean homes and care for skin. That's the core of every product we carry. Not a vague "plant extract." A specific ingredient with a name, a history, and a track record longer than any synthetic cleaner on the market.

Most natural cleaning brands in Singapore tell you what they've removed. We'd rather show you what we've put in and why it works.
