What are soapnut berries

Soapnuts are berries that grow on trees, and after they ripen and dry up, the berries creates soap naturally when mixed with water.

In India, Soapnuts, or reetha, has been used for centuries by Indians to wash their hair, to strengthen hair and prevent dandruff.

In Indonesia, they are known as Lerak Klerek, and is used for washing batik clothing as it preserve the colours of clothing.

In Chinese traditional medicine, it is use to treat dry skin and other skin allergies, including eczema.
